J Hatch is an American jazz pianist with a drummer’s soul and an elegant groove. He spent his early professional years on the club scene on East Coast of the United States and on the riverboats in New Orleans, honing his playing, accompanying and writing skills while immersing himself in the traditions of blues and jazz music.

A versatile musician, Hatch is also a first-rate composer and arranger. He has created original compositions and arrangements for diverse musical venues including big bands, small groups, solo artists, vocalists and choirs in the United States and Europe. Performances featuring his compositions and arrangements can be found on various CDs, Spotify and You tube.

He now lives in Germany, where he continues to perform, arrange and give workshops. His newly released Trio CD “One Foot in the Groove” earned multiple awards at the annual Deutscher Rock und Pop Competition 2020, including First Prize in the categories Best Piano-Interpret and Best Arrangement.
